Specific Role Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist experienced technicians with vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• Participate in training sessions and practical assessments.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in work areas.

Requirements

Education: Minimum of Grade 10 or 12 with Pure Mathematics and Physical Science/Physics or an equivalent technical qualification.

Driver's License: Advantageous

Skills: Strong communication skills, a basic technical aptitude and a commitment to learning

About the Opportunity

Are you ready to develop your machining skills and gain valuable experience? Eskom's Turbo Gen Services is offering an exciting opportunity for 12 Trainee Machinists at the Mechanical Workshop ERI. This position requires candidates to sign a 2-year learning programme contract, and learners will receive a stipend according to Eskom's policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Production: Contribute to machining and production activities.
• Safety: Ensure adherence to safety standards and procedures.
• Training: Participate actively in the learning program to develop practical skills.

Minimum Requirements:

• N6 Mechanical Engineering qualification.
• Trade Test: Fitter and Turner.

Experience:

At least 1 year of mechanical experience in rotating and stationary turbine and generator maintenance.

• Ability to read and interpret Component Drawings and Tolerances.
